Charsadda: A two and half year old girl was raped and murdered in Chasadda district, police sources said on Thursday.
According to details, dead body of a minor girl, named Zainab, was found in the fields of suburban area of Charsadda. The girl’s body had knife cuts on chest and abdomen.
The body was sent to the nearby hospital, where the doctors confirmed that the girl had been raped before being killed.
As per medical report, the girl was raped 18 hours ago.
DNA samples of the victim have also been sent to Khyber medical college for further investigation.
Reportedly, the girl was kidnapped on Wednesday and her family had been looking for her.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Mehmood Khan took notice of the incident and ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and other officials to immediately arrest those involved in the incident.
“This incident is very heartbreaking and inhumane. Those involved will not escape the grip of the law,” he added.
Rape cases are on sudden rise in the country, amid calls for serious punishments for convicts.
On September 09, a woman was travelling on Lahore-Sialkot motorway was gang-raped in front of her children at the gunpoint.
On September 23, a girl was kidnapped and raped in Karachi’s Clifton area.
On October 01, a girl was gang-raped after being kidnapped while waiting for a bus on Jaranwala Road.
On October 02, two men lured a girl to a hotel located near Lahore Railway Station on the pretext of job interview and raped her.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also said that the convicts in rape case should be hanged publicly or castrated.
